Welcome to
DELISH Soups & Desserts
The Home of Easy & Nutritious Soup Recipes
Hi, THANKS for stopping by my blog. I’ll be sharing my easy and nutritious soup recipes & dessert ideas with you. I love experimenting with a fusion of different cuisines, and creating recipes with a rich and robust flavour. Most of the soup & stew recipes that I create are inspired by Mediterranean, Asian & South Asian cuisine, and can be customized to suit a vegetarian or vegan diet. Most of my dessert recipes focus on creamy flans, soft puddings, moist cakes and chewy cookies.
More On the Creator
I’m 58 years young, single, a Gen X’er and proud of it. I was born in Winnipeg Manitoba, and am a 1st generation Greek girl. I live in Vancouver, in a condo with my 87 year old dad, who I take care of. The condo has a nice, big kitchen where I can experiment and cook up my easy and nutritious soup recipes or bake up a storm. I like to plan my meals each week in advance, shop the ingredients and then go to town cooking, baking and freezing stuff.
For the last 30 years, I was working as a makeup and hair artist, but now I’m pretty much retired, and blog about food and beauty instead. My beauty blog is Luxe Beauty Blog. If you’re into beauty, skincare or haircare, check it out here…

When I’m not cooking up easy and nutritious soup recipes, baking, cleaning up my mess and blogging about food, I’m doing some kind of home improvement project. I’m addicted to the feel of a hammer in my hands. LOL. I have plans to buy a few power tools in the new year! Oh, and I am a home decor nut too. But, I guess it could be worse. My other hobbies include being a plant mom (I have like 100 plants), propagating the little suckers and making art. I’m a self-taught artist. I’m working on a website for my art too. Hopefully it’ll be up and running soon. If you’re interested in seeing some of my work, follow me on at…

My Backstory
I’m not a trained chef, but I did learn a lot from watching my Greek Mom create drool-worthy meals! She was an amazing cook!! When I’m in the kitchen developing easy and nutritious recipes for soup, I’m in a happy place. But, it wasn’t always that way. In the past, cooking wasn’t my thing. So what changed that? The short answer is… my Mom passed away and I had to look after my dad. It was stressful at first; I thought my cooking wouldn’t measure up to hers. But, it turns out, that when I cook, I feel a deep connection to my Mom, as if she is right next to me, guiding me. So as of now, the meals have turned out great! Thanks Mom! And today, when I’m making her signature dishes, it makes Dad and I happy, and keeps her memory alive.
Why Focus on Soups & Desserts?
The “why” behind the easy and nutritious soup recipes, and creamy desserts is simple…I’m a mouth cancer survivor. Ten years ago, I had surgery to remove a tumour in my cheek, and then radiation treatment followed. I was unable to open my mouth very much. All I could eat were soups or creamy types of food. At first I thought I was doomed to a life of boring soup. So, to feel better, I ate ice cream, pudding, flans, Greek yogurt, basically anything sweet, soft and creamy. I did learn how to make a killer flan though!! Check out the beauty below!
I have in time, come to appreciate the ease of making soup, and the fact that I end up getting all my daily nutritional needs met in one large bowl of soup! With trial and error, I developed several favourite soup and dessert recipes, and that’s how this blog, DELISH Soups and Desserts, was born. So today, I’m all for easy and nutritious soup recipes and of course, smooth and creamy desserts.
